Here's the story of the bourbon barrels that have contributed to these two deliciously paired products.

First, these barrels are used to age bourbon at Willett in Kentucky. Then, the barrels are transported by our friends at Bittermilk to Charleston where they are used to make a Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Fashioned cocktail mix using spices and cinchona bark. Afterwards we pick up the barrels and chop them up to smoke our Bourbon Barrel Smoked Flake Sea Salt which requires between 26-30 hours of steady smoke to achieve the delicate tasting notes that make it so popular.
